Ingredients
  

1 cup (225g) unsalted butter, softened

3/4 cup (150g) packed brown sugar

1/4 cup (50g) granulated sugar

1 tablespoon vanilla extract

2 large eggs

2 1/4 cups (280g) all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 cup (175g) semi-sweet chocolate chips

1/2 cup (90g) milk chocolate chips

1/2 cup (75g) chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)

Flaky sea salt for topping (optional)

Instructions
 

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

    In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until the mixture is light and fluffy.

      Add in the vanilla extract and eggs, one at a time, mixing until fully incorporated after each addition.

        In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add this dry mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring just until combined. Avoid overmixing.

          Gently fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips, milk chocolate chips, and walnuts or pecans, if using.

            Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart to allow for spreading.

              If desired, sprinkle a small pinch of flaky sea salt on top of each cookie.

                Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown but the centers are still slightly soft.

                  Remove from the oven and let them cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
