Ingredients

1 cup (200g) granulated sugar

1/2 cup (100g) brown sugar, packed

1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter, melted

2 large eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon baking powder

1 cup (125g) all-purpose flour

1/2 cup (50g) unsweetened cocoa powder

1 cup (170g) chocolate chips (semi-sweet or dark)

1/2 cup (75g) chopped nuts (optional)

Instructions

Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.

Mix Sugars and Butter: In a large mixing bowl, combine the granulated sugar, brown sugar, and melted butter. Stir until well blended and smooth.

Add Eggs and Vanilla: Add the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Then, stir in the vanilla extract.

Combine Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the salt, baking powder, flour, and cocoa powder.

Blend Mixtures: Gradually add the dry ingredient mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.

Add Chocolate Chips and Nuts: Fold in the chocolate chips and chopped nuts (if using) until evenly distributed throughout the dough.

Scoop Dough: Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop cookie dough onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each cookie as they will spread while baking.

Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes. The edges should look set, but the center will still be soft; this ensures a fudgy texture.

Cool Down: Remove the cookies from the oven and allow them to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Enjoy: Serve your fudgy chocolate brownie cookies warm or at room temperature, and enjoy each chewy, chocolatey bite!
