Honey Garlic Chicken Recipe

1.5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken thighs

1/2 cup honey

1/4 cup soy sauce (low sodium recommended)

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced

1 tablespoon sesame oil

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 teaspoon rice vinegar

1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional for some heat)

2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)

Sesame seeds (for garnish)

Prepare the Marinade: In a mixing bowl, combine honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, minced ginger, sesame oil, olive oil, rice vinegar, and red pepper flakes (if using). Stir until well mixed.

    Marinate the Chicken: Place the chicken thighs in a resealable bag or a shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the chicken, seal it or cover it, and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours for more flavor.

      Cook the Chicken: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Remove the chicken from the marinade, allowing the excess to drip off (reserve the marinade). Heat a large oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the chicken thighs for about 3-4 minutes on each side until they are browned.

        Bake: After searing, pour the reserved marinade over the chicken in the skillet. Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through (internal temperature of 165°F or 75°C).

          Glaze and Serve: Once cooked, remove the skillet from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes. Spoon the pan sauce over the chicken and garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds.
